Step into the Digital Animation & Visual Effects program and get hands‑on with the entire studio pipeline. In this introductory course you’ll build core skills in modeling, texturing, animation, rendering, and compositing while working directly inside industry‑standard tools—Autodesk Maya, Foundry Nuke, Pixologic ZBrush, Adobe Substance Painter, and Epic Games’ Unreal Engine. Through interactive lectures and guided lab projects, you’ll gain the creative and technical foundation needed to move confidently into professional‑level production.

Course Learning Outcomes

  1. Summarize the stages of a 3‑D/VFX production pipeline and identify where each software tool fits.
  2. Navigate the interfaces of Maya, Nuke, ZBrush, Substance Painter, and Unreal Engine to execute basic tasks.
  3. Create, modify, and manage simple 3‑D assets in Maya and ZBrush.
  4. Apply textures and materials using Substance Painter and import them correctly into a rendering engine.
  5. Assemble and render a basic scene in Unreal Engine with appropriate lighting settings.
  6. Composite rendered passes in Nuke to produce a final image sequence.
  7. Demonstrate safe and ethical use of digital assets, respecting copyright and licensing requirements.
